Obituary For Marjorie Ann Vincent
Marjorie Ann Vincent, 90, of Rockford passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in OSF ST. Anthony Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born February 4, 1934, in Rockford, the daughter of Leslie and Greta Powers. She married James J. Vincent on November 8, 1951. James predeceased her in 1969. Marjorie was a member of St. Rita Church.
For anyone that knew her, Marjorie was truly one of the best women that ever lived. Her laughter was infectious, and her smile absolutely lit up any room she was in. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family, as she was a deeply beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a woman of faith who loved hard, prayed often, and who was incredibly proud of her Irish heritage.
In addition to being the matriarch of her family, she left a significant influence on the community around her. Having worked for Aunt Mary’s and Fannie Mae in Rockford, she was well known for her California Pies and the cheery demeanor she gave to all patrons.
She loved to have fun and she loved to love others. She was an avid fan of country music, especially Willie Nelson, as many of her friends and family would attest to. She was a beacon of light and a mother to many. Her soul was so special and the impact she left on others was remarkable.
Survivors include her children, Thomas (Susan) Vincent, Jane (Bill) Gorman, Rosemary (Peter) Campion, Katherine (Michael) Prosinski, Teresa Lemmons and Margaret (Peter) Turcato. Grandchildren, Jacob (Rebecca) Vincent, Joseph (Paige) Vincent, Addie Vincent, Kelly (Jeff) Olerud, Lucas (Melissa) Campion, Nicholas (Christine) Campion, Mary Rose Prosinski, Jessica (Jeremy) Turcato, Peter (Meg) Turcato and Jimmy (Mackenzie) Turcato, daughter-in-law, Laurie Vincent-Ferrell. Fifteen Great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Leslie, and Greta; Son, Michael in 2005; Grandchild, Baby Gorman; Sisters, Elizabeth Militello and Nancy Smith. Special sister and brother-in-law, Glenn, Rosemary Leber.
