Obituary For Mark Anthony Skaug

Mark Anthony Skaug, 64, of Rockford was called home Saturday, July 27, 2024. He was born July 1, 1960, in Rockford, the son of Orrin and Arlene Skaug. He attended West High School. Mark married the love of his life, Francine, on March 1, 1979. Mark went on to work at Ello Furniture Manufacturing, Joseph Behr, Logli Supermarket as a Baker, and Sam’s Pizza on Charles.

Mark enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, classic cars, and riding his 1976 Harley. He had a great sense of humor and found joy in making others laugh. Mark was known for being a hard worker and his natural ability to fix anything. He was a follower of Christ and was always willing to help those in need. Above all things, Mark was a fierce protector of those he loved. He took pride in his family and was the best Papa to his grandchildren. Mark has left an everlasting legacy in the hearts of all those who knew him. We will forever miss our “Superman”.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Francine (Carmona) Skaug; his four children: Anthony (Crystal Kutscher) Skaug, Valerie (Rafael) Lazcano, Kelly (Donnell Kelly) Skaug, and Marcus (Maria) Skaug; Grandchildren: Hailey, Asha, Myra, Abraham, Anthony Joseph, Elijah, Sonny, Rafael, Ava, Jaxson, and Iris; Siblings, Orrin Skaug Jr, Dave (Marsha) Northrup, Barb (Darwin) Walk, Ronnie Lee (Sue) Northrup and Charlie Taylor, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Orrin and Arlene; Siblings, Gary, Merlyn, Ronnie Allen, Donald, Roger, Ralph, Karen, Carol, Jimmy, Joyce, and Mary.

Memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Grace Funeral Chapel, 4301 North Main with Deacon Peter Addotta officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service. Arrangements made by Tony Gasparini Funerals.

From the time you joined our family your smile touched my heart. I remember when you first called me sister & hugged me. Oh the shenanigans we all got into. When mom & dad decided they no longer could be a couple we always hung on to our sibling relationship. Being excepted as auntie to your children has been a blessing! I know all our Angels were there to welcome you to heaven however my heart aches with your absence. Rest now my sweet brother you have earned the peace & painless forever that eternity gives you! Until we meet again , I know , you are now watching over all your family. Love always always, your sister Barbie.
