Molly Jane Malone, age 70, of Rockford, Illinois passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024.

She was born on December 9, 1953, in Rockford, Illinois to Webb and Jane Malone. She was their only daughter and enjoyed being a sister to 4 brothers.

Molly graduated from Boylan Catholic High School in 1971. Following high school she spent 1 year at Loyola University and then transferred to Winona State University. She graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Molly began her nursing career in Minneapolis/St. Paul specializes in psychiatric nursing and behavior management. She retired after 33 years of caring service.

Molly spent 20 years with the love of her life Jon Soucek before his passing. They rescued numerous cats and dogs together. Molly also loved gardening (her favorite flower was

Lilies of the Valley), collecting seashells, swimming, reading mystery novels, watching Notre Dame football games, playing Scrabble, eating chili cheese fries and Oreos, drinking Coca-Cola, watching Cardinals birds), and reading the Psalms. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and loved being “Aunt Molly” (always remembered nieces’ and nephews' birthdays and sent Advent calendars which they were excited about every Christmas).

Molly is survived by 2 brothers: Pat (Kathy) and Tim (Glorie) Malone; sister-in-law Rhonda Malone; 11 nieces and nephews who were her pride and joy; 6 great nieces and nephews.

Molly is preceded in death by her parents, Webb and Jane Malone; brother Dan Malone; brother Terry Malone; and the love of her life Jon Soucek.

Funeral Mass at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Cathedral of St. Peters 1243 N. Church Street Rockford, Illinois. Visitation from 10 am until the time of Mass Tuesday in the church.

Private Burial will be at a future date.
