Arthur J. Van Laeke, 96, of Rockford, Illinois, died on March 7th, 2023, due to a brief illness. Arthur was born August 4, 1926, to Arthur and Adele (Demought) Van Laeke. Arthur served his Country proudly in the Philippines during World War II. He married Barbara Jane Dolan in 1949. He worked at Twin Disc Hydraulic Division for over 30 years in Rockford. His passions include gardening tomatoes, building wren houses, lawn care, hunting pheasant, and golfing, which he attributes to his longevity. Art was a devoted husband and father to three daughters.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, in 2016. Survivors include his daughters: Georgia Van Laeke, Rhonda Van Laeke, and Kim Van Laeke. Grandchildren: Doug Dannenberg (Traci), Brad Dannenberg(Tracy), Sierra Van Laeke and Damien Van Laeke. Great-Grandchildren: Bryce, Ty, Kobey, River, Evelynn, and Ivy Dannenberg; his Niece Becky Nitz; and special friends: Dawn, Kathy, and Jesus (Amigo).

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, which will be held on Sunday, 03/12/2023, at Tony Gasparini Funerals, 6825 Weaver Rd, Rockford, IL 61114, from 3:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. A private military funeral honors ceremony will be held at Calvary Cemetery on 03/13/2023.
