Obituary For Jeanne Hanson Bove

Jeanne Hanson Bove died Thursday October 27, 2022, in Alden Debes. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 17, 1931 to Albert and Ollie Hanson; graduated from St. Brigid’s and Notre Dame of Md. Prep School; studied many years at the Peabody Conservatory of Music; bred/trained Chesapeake Bay Retrievers with her father; sang at many weddings at St. Brigid’s Church where she had been in the Adult choir from seventh grade. She was also a member of the marching band at St. Brigid’s where she played the clarinet. Jeanne loved to knit for OSF St. Anthony Hospital and made rosaries at Holy Family. She married Charles L. O’Hare and had three daughters-Mary Charlene, Mary Elizabeth and Mary Jeanne. Later, she married Joseph Bove on May 27, 1972, at Church by the Side of the Road; on May 27, 1981, they were married Catholic at St. Anthony of Padua Church; Joseph and Mary Charlene acted as their witnesses. She helped raise two stepchildren; Joseph & Dawn Bove. Jeanne loved being Catholic and was proud to be an American. She felt a great need to take care of animals and fed them all the time. She leaves her husband, Joseph, her children; Mary Charlene Orlandi (Joseph), Mary Elizabeth Gill (Raymond), Mary Jeanne Streed (Dale); stepchildren Joseph (Diane), Dawn Johnston (Patrick) ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A special thanks to Swedish American Palliative Care, Northern Illinois Hospice, and the staff at Alden Debes. Memorial Mass at 10am Saturday November 12, 2022, in St Anthony of Padua Church. Memorial Greeting from 9 until 9:45 Saturday in the church. In Lieu of Flowers Donations to Noah’s Arc or Woo Haven. Arrangements by Tony Gasparini Funerals.

    Joe and family, I've been away from Rockford for a long time, but the Boves were my favorites! I enjoyed being friends with Jeanne and stopping at the garage to chat with Joe and the guys. Such great times. Jeanne was the best. Beautiful until the end. Rest In Peace dear one.
