Rosa Maxwell, 76, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 in her home. She was born on June 12, 1942 in Corning, Arkansas, the daughter of Bill Roberts and Marie Williams. She married the love of her life, Thomas Maxwell Sr. on January 16, 1960 in Rockford. He predeceased her on January 6, 2017.

Rosa worked at Rockford Screw Products for many years. She was also employed by Means Uniform Service. She enjoyed gardening, embroidering, quilting, thrift shopping and antiquing. Rosa loved to share stories and reminisce about her life.

Survivors include her children, Carla (Eleazar) Escamilla, Thomas (Laura) Maxwell Jr., Sarah (Stuart) Whitney and Sarah Cecil; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; her siblings, Doris (Aud) Day, Billie (Roberts) Clark, Bob (Billie) Roberts, Wayne Green, Nancy Green and Steve Green. Predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Maxwell Sr., “Daddy” and “Momma”, Earl and Elsie (Arnold) Aud; birth parents Bill Roberts and Marie (Williams) Warren; brothers, James Aud, Charlie Green, Donny Green, J.D. Green; sisters, Sue Reynolds and Cordlia Aldridge and her beloved mother-in-law, Florence (Clayton) Maxwell.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Tony Gasparini Funerals, 6825 Weaver Road, Rockford, IL 61114.
