Ruth Block, of Roscoe, passed away Thursday February 14, 2019 at Fair Oaks Nursing Home. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of Lawrence and Bernice Block. She moved to Rockford in 1970 and lived with her sister and brother in law Virginia and Walter Reader. Ruth enjoyed music, dancing, bingo, crosswords, reading and being around people. Ruth liked spending time with the neighbor’s, whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at Lifescape Adult Day Care. Ruth was loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include her Nephews Jim (Anna) Reader, Bob (Kathy) Reader, Buzz Reader (Sheila Bates), Larry (Barb) Block, Kenny (Gia) Block and Niece, Debbie (Jim) Andrews. Many nieces, nephews. Many great and great great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents. Brother, Bill Block. Sisters, Virginia Reader and Barb Caccamo. Family would like to thank Lifescape Adult Daycare for their many years of care and support. Family would also like to thank Fair Oaks and the staff for welcoming Ruth into their family. A very special thank you to all the friends and family, near and far, whose kindness, generosity and love made Ruth feel at home wherever she went.
