Obituary For Juanita Macias

Juanita Macias, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on January 26, 1947, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Evaristo Bonilla and Adeline Sigala. She married Victor T Macias on September 11, 1964. Juanita was a member of St. James Church. She was a vibrant spirit known for her unwavering kindness, unbiased love, and dedication to her family. Juanita was family-focused and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her legacy of compassion and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew her.

She is survived by her three children, Victor (Kris) Macias, Juanita Macias, and Joseph (Andrea) Macias. Grandchildren, Victor (Ethan) Macias, Alexandria Macias, Lucianna Gross, Sadie Gross, Joseph Macias, Dominic Guzman, Justina Guzman, Carlos Jimenez, and Anthony Jimenez. Siblings, Arthur (Lynn) Bonilla, Phil (Mary) Sigala, Annette Sigala, Gloria (Paul) Pipitone, Michael (Theresa) Sigala, Sandra Sigala. Father, Ignacio Sigala, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Pre-deceased by Husband, Victor T Macias Mother Adeline Sigala, Father Evaristo Bonilla, and Brother David Sigala.

Funeral Mass at 11:00 am Thursday, October 3, 2024, in St Anthony Church 1010 Ferguson Street with Father Carl Beekman officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm Wednesday, October 2 at Tony Gasparini Funerals 4301 North Main Street Rockford. Visitation is also from 10:00 am until the time of service on Thursday in the church.

I grew up with Juanita-she was always a good friend. Have to share a event that happened to us-we went trick or treating alone and on Loomis street, there was a huge house that we knocked at the door. A lady comes to the door and has a knife in her hand. We both look at each other. She tells us come in. We hesitate and than we ran. Oh my gosh did we ever run. One of the things we would laugh about when we would see each other. Prayers to family-our families are close. God bless all of you.
