Obituary For Lillian P. Hughes
Lillian P. Hughes, 99 of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully at Anam Care of Rockford on February 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born to Anthony and Mary Rinaldo on March 30, 1924. On March 14, 1953, Lillian married the love of her life, Maynard C. Hughes. Lillian was predeceased by her loving husband, Maynard, her infant sons Charles and Patrick, sisters Catherine Maggio and Rosalie Frisella, and brother Thomas Rinaldo. Lillian is survived by her brother, Anthony (Marge) Rinaldo, and children Deborah (Robert) Esterbrook, Tim (Wipada) Hughes, Sharon (Charlie) Mann, Patt’e Hughes, and Colleen Hughes, grandchildren; Robert, Chuck, Lindsay, Jessica, Colette, Maya and Zachary, great-grandchildren; Stephanie, Vanessa, Lydia, and Bobby and great-great-granddaughter Adrienne.
Lillian devoted her life and love to her family. Her courage and strength will continue to guide us. Her beautiful smile could light up a room and her compassion and interest in others blossomed into beautiful new relationships. She was incredibly proud of her Italian heritage and loved the Chicago Cubs through thick and thin.
The family extends their utmost gratitude to everyone at Anam Care whose attention and compassion went above and beyond for our mother. A sincere thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice for their guidance and support in this journey.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 28th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at Tony Gasparini Funerals, 6825 Weaver Rd, Rockford, IL 61114. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Rockford, IL.

I am sorry to learn of your mother's passing. My husband, Bud, knew your dad thought work. When he spoke about your mother you could tell how much he cared for her. Both your parents were good people. Pat Schroeder
