Obituary For Marion H. Schultz

Marion H. Schultz, 87, of Rockford, IL, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022. She was born February 22, 1935, in Rockford, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Dusage) Davis. She graduated from Rockford West High School in 1953. She married Richard Schultz, Sr., on June 20, 1953. They were married 63 years before he passed away in 2016. She retired from the Rockford City Clerk’s office after 20 years of service. She and Richard were members of St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church. They enjoyed many summers at their cabin on Shawano Lake in WI. Marion was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She also loved her dog, Mattie, that gave her comfort and company after her husband passed away. Her family is thankful for all her special neighbors that helped watch over her and all her Shawano Lake friends, especially Rodney, who treated her as his mom, and Dick, who always made sure everything was okay at the cabin.

Marion is survived by her sons, Rick (Carla) Schultz and Randy (Debbie) Schultz; Five grandchildren, Andy (Angie) Schultz, Steve Schultz (Sue Pakula), Becca (Ryan) Arnold, Cara Schultz, and Kyle Schultz; 12 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Teagan, Kaden, and Kenley Schultz, Emily and Natalie Pakula, Colton Schultz, Cameron, and Delaney Arnold, Emma, Olivia, and Elliott Patterson; Brother, Joe (Penny) Davis; and several nieces and nephews She is predeceased by her parents and by her husband, Richard.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., following a memorial visitation at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, in Tony Gasparini Funeral Chapel. 6825 Weaver Road, Rockford. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be determined by the family.

    Marion from the day we met our hearts grew .Its hard to describe our title, Mom and Daughter relationship, then became like sisters, then we became best friends.... We came into each other's life at the perfect time for us both.. I will miss you as I do already. You were a confadont to me and much more. We shared many laughs and many tears. We were always in the middle of our conversations, never done. We enjoyed each other friendship greatly. I thankyou for sharing your life with me. I will see you again in heaven. Untill then I will remember the words and apply them that you spoke/ shared to me everyday ! For that Iam gratfull! Rest in peace my friend, Marion .
