Mary Ellen Italis 84 of Rockford passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, in her home. She was born May 12, 1939, in Rockford, the daughter of Einar and Anna Carlson. She graduated from Muldoon High School, class of 57. She married Anthony Italis on September 12, 1959, in SS Peter and Paul Church. Mary Ellen worked at the Rockford Lithuanian Club for 40 years.

Survivors include her two daughters: Christine (Manuel) Renteria, and Cynthia (Daniel)Miller. Grandchildren; Kristin Italis, Kyle Italis, Austin Howard, and Maximillian Miller. Great grandson, Alexander Bluhm. Her favorite dog, Cosmo. Predeceased by her parents, husband, Tony, and son Greg.

Funeral Mass at 10:00 am Saturday, March 16, 2024, in St Anthony of Padua Church 1010 Ferguson Street Rockford with Father Carl Beekman officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 9 am until time-of-service Saturday in the church.
