Obituary For Peter Bove Jr.

Peter Bove Jr, 41, of Rockford, tragically passed away in his home on January 19th. His family is grateful for every moment and memory they had with him.

Peter was born on February 10, 1982, to Patricia (Falzone) Bove and Peter Bove in Rockford, IL. After graduating from Boylan High School in 2000, he went on to study at Northern Illinois University.
Peter had various hobbies. He was a UFO enthusiast, even visiting Roswell with his nephew David. He was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He was also a member of the Venetian Club
He was an avid collector of vintage action figures, especially He-Man, Wolverine, and Batman. He often attended WWE matches with his friends, dressing as his favorite wrestler, Hulk Hogan.

Peter was an incredibly handy person. Much of his time was spent remodeling his home. He was a wonderful cook. Especially known for his homemade pizza, spaghetti, and meatballs.

The day that Peter and his partner Erika welcomed their daughter, Serafina to the world was the happiest day of his life. Peter was an incredibly loving father, a caring partner, and a loyal friend. His family will miss him forever and never be the same without him.

Peter is survived by his father, Peter Bove Sr., his sisters Jennifer Roller and Amy (John) Gasparini, special nephew David (Caroline) Divan, his nephews Sammy, Geno and niece Franchesca, his loving partner Erika Bengtson and their daughter Serafina, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends. Peter is predeceased by his mother Patricia Bove.

Memorial Mass at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in St Anthony Church 1010 Ferguson Street. Memorial visitation from 4 pm until 7 pm Friday, January 26 in Tony Gasparini Funeral Chapel, 6825 Weaver Road. In lieu of flowers memorials to be established by the family.

Peter was always an extremely personable, smiley and an uplifting person to be around. I met him while working with him at the Hilander grocery store on Alpine & Old Charles Street in the mid-late 90's. I remember him always having a gravitational pull towards him. He was a very inclusive and nonjudgmental person. Welcoming and easy to talk to.
